We will be accepting interns for Fall 2013
Action Speaks is a multi-formatted radio show and live panel discussion that, with the help of scholars and practitioners, unpacks underappreciated moments from the 20th Century for their context and ramifications. In the last two years we have been heard on 250 radio stations throughout the United States. We are hosted by WGBH Boston and produced at AS220, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. We are looking for one or two student interns to work on one or more of the following activities:
- Work with our Producer and Executive Producer to help create and implement a hands-on and/or and social media strategy to publicize our upcoming eight week season, including marketing directly to groups and individuals who have interest in a particular show topic.
- Help our producer and engineer to contact and distribute our shows to radio stations around the country.
- Work with our engineer and producer to update our archive of past shows
- Help in writing and gathering materials for a National Endowment for the Humanities Production Grant.
We are also open to any other ideas that you might have for ways you’d like to contribute to our show, particularly as we develop new social networking and financial strategies.
This position provides an opportunity to strengthen skills in project/event management, public programming, digital archives, marketing, and radio production. Schedule can be flexible, but panels are held each Wednesday evening in October and November from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Approximate hours per week: 10-15. For more information, or to send a resume, please contact us at Action Speaks: firstname.lastname@example.org.
